Throughout the school year, South Arbor Academy elementary and middle school students are guided in developing a readiness to serve others and build community both within and outside the school. Students are involved in various forms of service ranging from all-school efforts to provide food to local food agencies (for example, Ann Arbor Food Gatherers) and raise money for families in emergency need. Students also reach out in small groups and in classroom efforts, organizing and participating in events which have supported:
- The American Heart Association
- The Nature Conservancy
- The Cystic Fibrosis Walk-a-thon
- The Saline Seniors Center
- Leukemia Pennies for Patients
- As well as going out to serve local senior’s needs with leaf raking and holiday visits.
In the 2008-09 school year South Arbor was part of a drive that benefited Safe House -a family shelter. Click on the link below to learn more about our efforts.
