Through out the school year, South Arbor students are guided in developing a readiness to serve others and build community both within and outside the school. Students are involved in various forms of service ranging from all-school efforts to provide food to local food agencies (for example, Ann Arbor Food Gatherers) and raise money for families in emergency need. Students also reach out in small groups and in classroom efforts, organizing and participating in events which have supported:
- The American Heart Association
- The Nature Converancy
- The Cystic Fibrosis Walk-a-thon
- The Saline Seniors Center
- Leukemia Pennies for Patients
- As well as going out to serve local senior’s needs with leaf raking and holiday visits.
