South Arbor’s highly-esteemed kindergarten program provides children with an opportunity to grow both academically and socially in a group environment that is safe, nurturing, and caring. Parents and teachers work in partnership throughout the year to enhance each child’s academic success. We not only encourage parents to become actively involved in their kindergartener’s education, we wholeheartedly welcome it.

We continue this partnership by daily reinforcing daily virtues and morals taught at home such as respect, honesty, friendship, and responsibility, helping students grow into strong, well-rounded young individuals. We offer both a morning and an afternoon half-day kindergarten program, as well as an independent off-site kindergarten after-school care program opportunity which provides further social and academic opportunities.

Our Core Knowledge curriculum is well-rounded and challenging with an emphasis on reading and math. The pre-reading program is phonics-based, concentrating on letter recognition and basic blending skills along with sight word recognition. The curriculum also includes introductions to math, history, geography, and science. In addition, students enjoy specials activities each day including Art, Music, Physical Education, Spanish, and Library, as well as an outdoor recess time and field trips.

We at South Arbor are dedicated to providing children with the best education possible, starting with kindergarten and continuing throughout their key elementary years. By offering a safe and nurturing learning environment, we create not simply a school where children can grow, but a place where they can begin to realize their dreams!
