A spirit of community is thriving throughout South Arbor Academy. Parents work hand-in-hand with teachers and administrators striving towards one common goal – enriching the lives of the children and encouraging them to achieve their greatest potential. Parents have ample opportunity to become involved in the academy in various ways allowing them to dedicate whatever time they may have available.
A welcoming Parent Room, dedicated exclusively to the parents, provides a place for them to meet and work on site at the school. Volunteer opportunities may include working as a lunch supervisor, classroom parent, office support or chaperone, just to name a few. Parents may also volunteer for one of seven parent committees which include Academics, Athletics, Boosters, Building & Grounds, Hospitality, Library and Moral Focus. Committee presidents form the school’s leadership team, along with the Principal, Assistant Principal and Parent Ambassador.
Parents can stay further connected with their children and their progress even away from school with NHA’s AtSchool online access to their child’s grades. This service allows them to view their child’s grades on a daily basis over the internet and communicate with their teachers. For parents wishing to stay involved with their child and their education, the South Arbor family is like a breath of fresh air.
Another way that the quality of education at South Arbor Academy is influenced by parent involvement is through our Parent Leadership Committees. These committees, comprised of parent volunteers, include the Academic, Booster, and Athletics Committees, along with the Library, Hospitality and Moral Focus/Multicultural Committees, as well as our Health, Marketing and Building and Grounds Committees. These committees meet monthly to serve the school community through various activities and events that enrich our school life for students, parents and staff.
